Egyptian Cotton Sheets

Egyptian Cotton is the best cotton in the world according to many suppliers and customers alike, well known for its superior softness and supple qualities, it is normally reserved only for the finest bedlinen. The key ingredient in this cotton is the lush grounds in the upper Nile Delta region of Egypt with its fertile soil which is perfect for growing long staple fibres which can then be spun into superfine yarns creating the indulgent high thread count bedding we all desire to sleep under.

Egyptian Cotton is ideal for making into bedding as it helps maintain a healthy sleeping temperature by wicking away moisture from you while you sleep, this then makes a better temperature for which the body can maintain all night long. The better quality the cotton the better this process is, so look out for premium cotton as the cheaper stuff if not as good and you really do get what you pay for. There is no such thing as CHEAP Egyptian Cotton Bedding, only inferior blended cotton where only a portion of it is made from the good stuff and the other part, well who knows!

Good bedding retailers would always recommend you use a branded label, like Sheridan or Belledorm, as they have years of experience in using premium quality Egyptian Cotton and have produced some of the finest bed sheets you can buy and let’s face it you do deserve the very best when paying out for your new bed linen.

Two good things to look out for when getting your latest linen cupboard additions is Mercerisation and Sanforisation. These two processes are not harmful and are ethically applied to the fabric to ensure that it lasts for many years and does not pill or shrink when you get it home and start to wash and iron the cotton for the first time.
